Does social media replace the yearbook?

Will social media replace yearbooks?  We think not.  Think about it, will your current social networks still be around in 20 years time?  Social media is great for keeping in touch and sharing information now, but will your online social networks create a permanent record for you?  Your yearbook is something to pull out in years to come to remind you of your friends and experiences from school and university.  It’s a permanent, physical thing.

However, social networks can be very helpful in helping you to create your yearbook!  Tell everyone about it, share ideas & collect photos.

A Helpful Checklist for all Yearbook Editors!

The chances are you have never been involved in a yearbook project before...we only leave school or university a couple of times in our lives!  So if you need some help, we can provide you with a copy of our Editors Checklist which Noel has kindly put together.  Your Account Manager will be able to email you a copy or email us at enquiries@meno-recollections.com

Spend a little bit of time planning your yearbook project and it will make it an easier and quicker project in the long run.

Top tips for starting your yearbook

1.       Form a yearbook committee to make the task easier and quicker!  Select someone to oversee the project, some of you can be in charge of collecting money, whilst others can write articles for your yearbook and collect photos.

2.       Set up your student profile page.  What would you like the students to contribute? How do you want your student pages to look? Log in at www.menoyearbooks.com to set up your page.

3.       Tell the students!  Let them know there will be a yearbook and that everyone can be involved.  Consider collecting a small deposit from each student.

4.       Start collecting content for your book. You can start uploading information online now!

5.       Think about price.  Ask students how much they will be willing to pay for a book. This will help you to decide how many pages to include in your book.  Ask your Account Manager for a quote or go to http://www.menoyearbooks.com/request-a-quote

Remember, if you have any questions, don't hesitate to get in touch with your Account Manager or give us a call on 0207 924 7571
